Albert E. Hise collection

 Collection — Folder: S1888
Identifier: S1888

Scope and Contents

This collection includes a hand-written journal and photograph of the journal's author, John Hise. The journal begins in April 1854, although there are short summaries of the months January, February and March. It's final entry is on January 1, 1860. There are entires for nearly every day, beginning with a description of the day's weather. Typically, entries describe work done, supplies purchased, trips to town and products sold in town or to other residents of the area. Often the entires describe visitors to the area, their origin and destination.
