Biographical Note

Thomas Joseph Barry was a professor of Journalism at the University of Notre Dame in 1941. He married Joanna Cecilia Sennett in 1931 in St. Joseph [St. Joseph County?], Indiana and they lived in South Bend, Indiana in 1936. He had a Ph.D. in 1943 and wrote the dissertation, "A Biographical and Bibliographical Dictionary of Indiana Authors" in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Master of Arts degree. It was published by the University of Notre Dame in 1943 and three copies are in the library's collection.
