Scope and Contents
Robert Haycock interviewed Henry Alva Ellis, aged 82, who lived with his daughter Mrs. Robert Park in Danville, Illinois, on Septembetr 15, 1969. Mr. Ellis told about his employment at the Greentown glass plant. He roomed at the Commercial Hotel, at the corner of Meridian and Grant streets, and traveled home to Gas City on the week-ends to stay with his parents. The Greentown Glass Factory ran 24 hours a day during its ten-year life span, from 1893 to 1903. This interview is three typed pages.
There are four xeroxed, typed pages by Bob Haycock which appear to be written for publication. He tells about the beginning of the Greentown Glass factory in 1893, and about the fire which destroyed it in 1903. Mr. Haycock also gives the history of the establishment of the Glass Museum, which was slated to open in Greentown, in June 1970.

Historical Note
Henry Alva Ellis was 82 years old when he was interviewed by Robert Haycock on September 15, 1969. Mr. Ellis, a member of the American Federated Glass Workers Union of North America, Local Union No. 61, told about his work at the Indiana Tumbler and Goblet Compnay. Bob Haycock, who conducted the interview, lived in Converse, Indiana, and used letterhead with "Antique Shows" centered under his name.
