Biographical Note
George Upfold was an Episcopal priest in New York City (1820-1831), Pittsburg, Pennsylvania (1831-1850), and Lafayette, Tippecanoe County (1850-1854); Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Indiana (1849-1865); resident of Indianapolis (1857-1872).
He and his wife Sophia had two children, both girls. Upfold died August 26, 1872 and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
