This collection contains a one page typewritten letter by J. O. Henderson and it is addressed "To County Auditor". The September 2, 1891 letter explains the certified copy of the portion of the proceedings of the State Board of Tax Commissioners which accompanied the letter.

Biographical Note

John Oscar (J. O.) Henderson was born September 1, 1847 in New London, Howard County, Indiana to Dr. John F. and Cynthia A. Henderson. He graduated from DePauw University in 1872 and became part owner and editor of the Kokomo Dispatch. Henderson married Mary George (1852-1921) on May 15, 1879 and they had four sons, Ralph W., Lloyd S., Paul G., and Arthur K.. He served as Indiana's Auditor of State from 1890-1894. He died at the age of 87 on January 25, 1935.
