This collection includes school compositions, financial documents, autographed and typed correspondence, newspaper clippings, greeting cards and sympathy cards, business advertisements, certificates of completion, and school event programs from Pearl Lloyd and others in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, New York and elsewhere ranging from 1869 to 1956, regarding teachers, education, family matters, and financial matters.

Biographical Note

Pearl Emma Lloyd was born August 13, 1885 at Madison, Indiana to Clyde W. and Malinda A. Lloyd. She had one sister, Goldie E. She received her B.A. and master's degrees from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana and taught school in Schools 8, 45, and 73 in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring in 1951. Lloyd was a past president of the Grade Teachers Association, of the Indiana Historical Society and Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. She died February 24, 1969 and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana on February 26, 1969.
