Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
The name "Lora B. Kempton" is inscribed in one of the two scrapbooks within this collection. The scrapbooks include newspaper clippings, advertisements and greeting cards from Richmond, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio, ranging from circa 1881-1900s.
Many of the pages include imagery of domestic animals, such as birds, dogs, cats and horses. There are 3 envelopes and 1 oversize folder to accomodate loose material no longer adhered to the scrapbooks. A 1900 advertisement for the Indiana State Fair and a "Wait for the Wagon!" Studebaker Brothers Manufacturing Company, South Bend, Indiana advertisement and poem is included within the envelopes.
An 1891 book titled, "Bring Flowers" by Mrs. Hemans (b. 1793-1835) can also be found.
