Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The collection consists primarily of Dunn's correspondence from during 1866-1919.Included are Temple Dunn's letters to his brother, William R. Dunn, an Alton furniture maker (1866-1880); letters to his daughter, written while he was living at the Soldiers' Home (1904-1909); letters to Dunn from W.R. Dunn, principally when working with Peckinpaugh, Harrison and Company, an Alton wagon company (1892-1897); and other family letters from Jamestown, Boone County (1878), and from Wells College, N.Y. (1919). Additional materials include Dunn's correspondence with other educators regarding his efforts to find a position (1891-1893); business receipts (1880-1890); and his notes on Roman history (1880).
