Scope and Contents

From the Collection: This collection includes correspondence, invoices, receipts, checks, indentures, and other legal and business papers from or related to Henry County, Indiana, ranging from 1830 to 1935, regarding property, real estate, business, taxes, and library books.

There are also typed copies of records from the Henry County Female Anti-Slavery Society, ranging from 1841 to 1849.

The oversize folder comprises primarily oversize indentures and land records (1838-1903), as well as a volunteer descriptive list for Jeremiah Hayes, a private with Company E, 36th Indiana Regiment (1863) and a descriptive roll for Company B, 19th Indiana Regiment (1861-1862).
