The bulk of the collection comprises invitations, programs, and announcements for social events in Washington, D.C. Other items include clippings related to Albert H. Vestal’s work in the U.S. Congress; his diary and other materials from his trip to California and Alaska (1927); speeches; a record of assistance given to World War I veterans and their families in his congressional district; and a transcript of headlines made by Vestal during 1917.

The bulk of the collection consists of Maude Vestal’s diaries (1920, 1925-1932) and papers, ranging from 1920 to 1940, largely regarding the Wendell Willkie Notification Committee (1940). The Willkie papers principally pertain to the planning of the official notification ceremony in Elwood, Indiana, on August 17, 1940.
