Enclosed in an envelope because of its fragile condition is the original manuscript of Ariel E. Drapier's book: "The Standard Swift Writing, The Elements of Stenography, reduced to moveable types and arranged for the use of schools," published in 1845. A paper at the back of the volume tells about Ariel's son William H. Drapier, who was also a stenographer like his father.
