Scope and Contents The collection contains five letters written by John L. Ketcham to his children relating to family matters and service during the U.S. Civil War, ranging from 1852 to 1869. Scope and Contents This collection contains a handwritten narrative by Susan M. Ketcham regarding her grandfather, Samuel Merrill, and her mother, Jane Merrill, circa March 15, 1925. Along with brief biographical information, Ketcham relates her mother's story about traveling with her father when he moved the state treasury from Corydon to Indianapolis and she also describes how Mr. Merrill traveled around the state as a bank examiner.
