This collection includes a copy of a December 13, 1937 letter sent by Otho Winger to Carolyn Dunn at the Indiana State Library in reference to the abduction by Indians of a young girl, surname of Thorpe, near Connersville, Indiana around 1813. Winger sent two pictures with the letter, both taken in October 1935 at the location J.L. Heineman, a Connersville historian, believed to be the area of the girl’s abduction. This collection includes an original typed manuscript from Otho Winger of Manchester College, Indiana, dated October 19, 1937, regarding his pageant, "The White Rose of the Miamis, A Pageant Portraying the Remarkable Life of Frances Slocum." The collection also includes a letter to Christopher B. Coleman, director of the Indiana Historical Bureau, signed by Otho Winger, October 19, 1937, and an original playbill pamphlet of "The White Rose of the Miamis", dated September 17, 1937.
