This collection contains two copies of a June 8, 1906 decision by the U.S. Treasury Department regarding the appeal filed by the State of Indiana to obtain back pay for the 161st Regiment Indiana Volunteers and two African American companies that served during the Spanish-American War. Additionally, there is a final report by attorney Albert W. Wishard and a June 12, 1906 document verifying that $11,674.61 was received by Wishard from Governor J. Frank Hanly for his legal services and expenses....
