Scope and Contents This collection contains two military commission certificates for the appointment of Robert F. Scott as assistant inspector general of the Indiana Legion. The first certificate was signed by Governor Alvin P. Hovey on June 23, 1890 and gave Scott the rank of captain. The second certificate was signed by Governor Ira J. Chase on February 12, 1892 and promoted Scott to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
