Scope and Contents This collection includes a June 11, 1861 letter written by W.R. Holloway, private secretary of Indiana Governor Oliver P. Morton, and sent to a Colonel Miller in response to Miller's request to the governor for a regiment appointment for his friend. Holloway also mentioned that once "one company reports from your county in accordance with the Militia Law you will be appointed" and that Governor Morton had gone to New York.
