Scope and Contents This collection includes typescripts of "Old Settlers of Wayne County," a series of articles that ran in the Richmond Palladium from July 26, 1860 to January 31, 1861. The series consisted of 18 articles and the collection has all but the 9th article that ran in the October 18, 1860 issue of the newspaper. The typescripts include edit marks in pencil.

Quaker meeting records collection

Scope and Contents The collection comprises materials Webster Parry collected from Society of Friends monthly meetings, beginning in the 1880s. He compiled the information into separate record books for each Quaker community, not only from Indiana but also Miami County, Ohio. The information includes births, marriages, and deaths, beginning in 1708 and continuing through 1928 when he donated them to the Indiana State Library. The books were microfilmed in April 1964.

Scope and Contents Two items in this collection are original hand-written documents in ink on long paper. The slightly smaller document is dated April 13, 1836, and is written by Samuel Fleming of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. Samuel promises to pay Stephen Swaine "of the same place" $800.00 for Lot #50 in the Borough of Richmond.

The second document has entries starting in 1827 and ending in 1842, listing payments made by Stephen Swaine to Dr. A. Alexander until the account was settled.
