Scope and Contents
The collections contains letters sent by Theodore Cowen to his parents, sister Semeramia, and brother Harris, in Warsaw, Indiana, between 1863 and 1864, while he served throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Also included is a resolution by the Soldiers Aid Society in Warsaw, and a poem about the Civil War entitled, “Why I Don’t Join the Veterans”.
