Scope and Contents On Sunday, October 25, 1958, Jeannette Vaughn Konley wrote a ten-page letter to her friend, Margarette Ball Dickson. Jeannette mentions various newspapers which reported her being named Poet Laureate of Indiana. She is pleased that the honor is "bestowed by fellow poets and is no mere accolade of royalty with [?] such as that which caused Robert Browning to write of William Wordsworth: 'Just for a handful of silver he left us, just for a riband to stick in his coat.'"
