Ambrose Gore Ruddell collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes one folder with a few documents and three account books of costs for Ambrose Ruddell's professional services. Folder 1 contains a hand-written legal document regarding the sale of property executed on August 21, 1865, between Ambrose G. Ruddell and Asher C. Brunson. There is also an undated, torn letter on Philadelphia University letterhead from L. Fairbanks to Dr. Ruddell and a land contract signed by President Zachary Taylor.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of two indentures for John Dickson (1816/9/31 and 1816/10/30); typewritten copies of a United States grant to Canadian Volunteers for two quarter-sections of land assigned to Lambert and Dickson families (1817/10/26); and an account of the Dickson family tradition about the miracle that saved Fort Harrison during the siege of 1812 by Sarah Elizabeth Chandler Dickson (undated), which was published in the Terre Haute Gazette on March 30,...

Kirkpatrick family collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes materials collected by members of the Kirkpatrick family from 1860 to 1934. The collection is primarily correspondence from Captain Thomas Kirkpatrick of Kokomo, Indiana ranging from 1863 to 1888 regarding matters of the 13th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and also includes news clippings, cards, pressed flowers, ribbons, and a scrapbook.

There are also two land grants from 1849 issued to Francis O'Dowd for land in Winamac and in Indianapolis (OB103).
