This collection contains a copy of the weather diary begun by Rapin Andrews in 1837. After his death in 1849, the diary was continued by an unknown individual. Locations for temperature readings were Gorham, Ontario County, New York (1837-1839) and Perry Township, Allen County, Indiana. Rapin recorded the temperature three times daily. This collection consists of seven weather diaries kept by Dr. Robert G. Graydon ranging from 1855 to 1898. Every entry includes the daily temperature which Dr. Graydon took three times every day, morning, midday, and evening. Many of the entries include the wind direction, appearance of the sky, and notations regarding precipitation. The majority of the entries are for Southport, Indiana, with a few months of entries for Greenwood, Indiana and Tyler, Texas
