Scope and Contents
This collection includes an account book used by John Wood containing entries ranging from 1818 to 1852. Entries regarding the sale of whiskey start around 1825 and there is a June 10, 1852 notation by R. Robbins, the administer of his estate. Also recorded in the volume is a song titled "The Prisoner's Hope"; cures for various illnesses, including cholera, dropsy, mortification, joint pain and toothache; and recipes for farm animal conditions and other domestic remedies.
