The book was re-used as a scrapbook and has news clippings attached to the pages regarding the U.S. Civil War and other items of interest to Mr. Odell (circa1860-1886). One item of note is a clipping of an address he gave during a June 20, 1860 debate on the question of popular sovereignty in the territories.
