Scope and Contents This collection contains a March 18, 1863 letter sent to John Rector and written by W. Y. Monroe from Triune, Tennessee while he was serving in the Union Army during the U.S. Civil War. John Rector had returned home from serving with Company A, 82nd Indiana Infantry and Monroe was a captain in the company.
