Though the name of the store is not identified, a January 21, 1853 statement entered in the back of the book that records the division of business interests between John Daily and George Tomlinson suggests that it was used for the store Tomlinson established in Southport.

This collection contains photocopies of William Miesse's papers dating from 1842 to 1850 and includes letters written to Miesse, bills and receipts, and handwritten directions on a "cure for ague".
