Scope and Contents This collection contains photocopies of the papers of Quintin W. Lomax. The papers include a copy of a November 23, 1856 letter sent by his grandfather Quintin from Orange County, Indiana to a cousin, Joseph Lomax, of Marion, Indiana. The letter discusses the presidential election, "putting down abolition", and hopes for the Union to be "safe for awhile longer".
