George Cannon letter

Scope and Contents This collection consists of a July 7, 1847 letter written by George Cannon and sent from Logansport, Indiana to F.S. Church of Providence, Rhode Island. In the letter Cannon mentions that he met a man who was going to build a steam saw mill and the man asked him to "obtain further particulars" regarding the rotary engine Mr. Church was manufacturing. He also mentions that a church convention was to be held in Delphi (Ind.) the following week and they expected to elect a new bishop.

Scope and Contents The collection includes four volumes, two each from the Georgetown Presbyterian Church and the Logansport Presbyterian Church, dated from 1829 to 1930. The volumes provide information on memberships, administrative activities, and related events. The Logansport record book (1829-1881) also provides some financial information about the church. Miscellaneous items in the collection include a receipt, letters, research notes, and a primary memory verse, dating from 1924 to 1935 and undated.
