Scope and Contents The collection consists principally of contemporary copies of Stephenson’s prison correspondence, made for Indiana State Prison Warden Walter Daly (1925-1933). Scope and Contents This collection includes a typewritten transcription of entries from the minute book of the Board of Control for the Indiana State Prison from March 1859 to June 1860 regarding the history of the prison at Michigan City; two copies of a document about the wardens who served the prison from 1822 to 1933 (circa 1930s); and a copy of the address by Alfred F. Dowd, warden of the Indiana State Prison, before the American Prison Association General Session on October 12, 1944.

Scope and Contents This collection includes black-and-white photographs, most likely from the Indiana Department of Correction, in Indiana ranging from circa 1930 to circa 1955, regarding buildings, facilities, prisoners, corrections staff and administration, and prison life in Indiana State Prison in Michigan City; Indiana Reformatory in Jeffersonville; Indiana State Farm in Putnam County; Indiana Women's Prison in Indianapolis; and unidentified prisons.
