Scope and Contents This collection includes a photostatic copy of a handwritten account entitled, "Pioneer Times: A Hunting Narrative for the Boys" written by Samuel Morrison during the mid to late 1880s concerning his experiences on a typical hunting expedition in the early 1800s. There is also a two-page, typed document presumably written by Evangeline Hayes Bauer, daughter of Ezra G. Hayes, from the early 1900s, about her reminiscences of Morrison's interactions with her family before his death in 1887.

Scope and Contents This collection contains a handwritten narrative by Susan M. Ketcham regarding her grandfather, Samuel Merrill, and her mother, Jane Merrill, circa March 15, 1925. Along with brief biographical information, Ketcham relates her mother's story about traveling with her father when he moved the state treasury from Corydon to Indianapolis and she also describes how Mr. Merrill traveled around the state as a bank examiner.
