Scope and Contents This collection contains diplomas from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, a commission to the rank of first sergeant of the 13th regiment of the Indiana Infantry, and an appointment to second lieutenant of the 9th regiment of the Indiana Infantry.

Scope and Contents The collection contains some correspondence and a large number of speeches of Robert McBride. There are also some papers regarding the Union Light Guard as well as a pamphlet written by McBride and several drafts of his manuscript for Personal Recollections of Abraham Lincoln.
