Scope and Contents This collection contains transcripts of oral history interviews with residents of Irvington, once a town in Marion County, and now a neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana, ranging from 1978 to 1987. The interviews were conducted primarily by Lois Leamon and others for Indianapolis Public Library, Hilton U. Brown Branch's Irvington Oral History Project. The transcripts include historical information about the town-cum-neighborhood and the people who lived there.

James and Malinda Griswold indentures

Scope and Contents This collection contains two indentures from the Griswold family for land in Wayne County, Indiana. The first is dated November 24, 1863 and concerns George K. Perrin; the second dated March 8, 1865 concerns Stephen Rybolt.

There is also a Griswold school fund mortgages from December 23, 1862 (OB011).

Scope and Contents This collection includes John Odell's school workbook containing his compositions, poems, mathematical equations, and expenses (circa1855 to 1860). The book was re-used as a scrapbook and has news clippings attached to the pages regarding the U.S. Civil War and other items of interest to Mr. Odell (circa1860-1886). One item of note is a clipping of an address he gave during a June 20, 1860 debate on the question of popular sovereignty in the territories.
