Scope and Contents This collection contains a photocopy of a poem called “Shiloh” by Peter Michels. Written and printed sometime after he moved to New Castle, Indiana (circa 1880s-1920s), Michel’s poem has ten stanzas and relates events that took place during the Battle of Shiloh on April 6 and 7, 1862 as remembered by “one who was in that battle two days and was not 17 years old.”
