Scope and Contents This collection includes a letter from W.M. Cockrum in Oakland City, Indiana to Indiana Governor Samuel M. Ralson on December 8, 1916 regarding thanking him for an invitation to celebrate the 100th birthday of Indiana statehood and to attend the meeting of the Indiana Historical Commission at the State House on December 11, 1916. There are also 11 colored stickers, which read: "You are most cordially invited to come to the Indiana Centennial Celebration at Indianapolis, October 2-15, 1916."

Scope and Contents The collection contains James Whitcomb Riley’s letters to Kentucky author Madison Cawein, general correspondence, and manuscript poems written by Riley, as well as other materials, ranging from 1876 to 1940. Also included are printed copies of Riley’s poems, essays, and newspaper stories about Riley.

There are also broadsides and printed portraits of Riley, ranging from 1900 to 1947 and undated (OBD038).

Scope and Contents This collection contains a May 16, 1924 handwritten letter by Louis L. Ludlow sent from Washington, D.C. to Howard M. Staunton, an attorney in Indianapolis. In the letter Ludlow lets Staunton know that he is sending him a copy of his new book From Cornfield to Press Gallery.

There is also an oversize portrait of Ludlow dated March 27, 1929 (B057).
