This collection consists entirely of photocopies. There are the journals of Walter E. Thrall, Captain of Company E of the 60th Indiana Volunteers. The journals range from April 1862 to December 1865. There is also information about the supplies and actions of the 60th, forms and other papers created in Southern Louisiana at the end of the war when Company E occupied Lafourche and Terrebone Parishes, and newsclippings.

Although someone has numbered the photocopies, they do not go in order of the dates, because page 21 has an entry for November 23, 1864, whereas page 3 has the date January 26, 1865.
