Scope and Contents This collection includes a copy of a biographical sketch from Peter Van Arsdale ranging from 1787-1857. Peter Van Arsdale wrote an autobiography of his life in order to provide for his family. He wrote about his early life with his father's death, working as a blacksmith until he was twenty-one, getting married and having children, as well as trying to find ways to provide a house and money in order to take care of his family.
