This collection includes an August 6, 1816 letter written by Ira Williams at Vincennes, Indiana and sent to Norman Williams of Woodstock, Vermont. In his letter, he notes that he left Chillicothe on July 7th and had no "object in view, more than a determination to see all the Western Country." He also relates his observations about the land he's seen, mentioning the Wabash and White River in Indiana and that the "best of the land is yet owned by the Indians."
