Scope and Contents This collection includes a typed, carbon copy of a paper (13 pages) delivered to the Vincennes Rotary Club on December 11, 1915 from Harry T. Watts in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana regarding the early settlement of Knox County and land claims. His history begins in 1700 when early wanderers came to Vincennes with "no thought of cultivating the land." They often married Indian women. In 1735, Francis Morgan de Vincennes was sent "by the French government to establish a military post."...
