Coffman in Japan during Fall 1945 after the Japanese surrendered at the end of World War II. The photographs concern scenes and people in Japan where Coffman was stationed, including American soldiers and military police, Japanese civilians, buildings, local sights, army checkpoints and sites, and destruction from the war.
