This collection includes a two page brief written by D. B. Johnson, state superintendent of the Indiana State Civic Union, regarding his opposition to Indiana Senate Bill No. 259. The 1917 bill to legalize the showing of motion pictures on Sundays thoughout Indiana was signed by Governor Goodrich on March 8, but then withdrawn by him and vetoed the following day after he learned that an amendment requiring that movies not be shown until after 2:00 p.m. had been removed from the bill.
