Alexander Lydy biographical sketch

Scope and Contents This collection contains a one-page typewritten biographical sketch of Alexander Lydy written by his granddaughter, Dorothy Schroeder, circa 1966. Besides basic biographical information, Schroeder mentions some of the battles that Lydy was involved in while serving in the Union army during the Civil War and his experience with the "Providence Spring" at Andersonville Prison in Georgia.

Benjamin Harrison collection

Scope and Contents The collection contains three scrapbooks of clippings compiled by Harrison’s son, Russell. The clippings document the death of Benjamin Harrison. A fourth scrapbook contains clippings regarding Harrison’s Southern Tour of the United States in the Spring of 1891. There are items related to various memorials to Benjamin Harrison following his death as well as a short biographical pamphlet and information on a full-length biography written by Harry Sievers in the 1950s.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of Campbell’s correspondence, writings, and material collected for his 1952 paper at the Indianapolis Literary Club on Hoosier humorist Kin Hubbard (d. 1930). Included is Campbell’s correspondence with people who knew Hubbard; copies of articles and clippings on Hubbard; and a copy of Campbell’s paper of Hubbard, "Give Us Back Our Hillbillies." David Henry Harrison Shewmaker collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes photocopies of a 24-page pamphlet published in 1904 of the address, "What War Has Done" by D.H.H. Shewmaker, that he gave at the eighth annual reunion of the Delaware County Veterans. In his address, Shewmaker discusses the American Civil War and other historic wars that influenced nations and the individuals involved. This collection also includes a one-page handwritten biography of Shewmaker circa 1967.
