The story provides a detailed narrative of the immigration of George Rapp and his followers from Germany to western Pennsylvania in 1803, and their move to Harmony, Indiana in 1814.

Hayes, from the early 1900s, about her reminiscences of Morrison's interactions with her family before his death in 1887.
