Jean Simmonds collection of Civil War letters

Most of the letters were written by William Innis to his wife, Mary Ann during the Civil War, but there are also some letters from other correspondents, presumably members of their extended family. Mr. Towner tells about his trip to the California Gold Rush in 1850. During the winter of 1849-1850, he heard about the Gold Rush while in school in Brookville.
