Scope and Contents This collection includes photographs from two Ben Hur films and one stage production ranging from 1902 to 1959, including William S. Hart as Messala in the 1902 theatrical production; Ramon Novarro as Ben-Hur and Francis X. Bushman as Messala in the 1925/1926 in the film; and Charlton Hesston as Ben-Hur in the 1959 film. The images were used in the November 30, 1958 issue of the Indianapolis Star.

The images show parade formations and crowds lined up to enter the Indiana Statehouse as the casket was carried inside, as well as pallbearers conveying the coffin out of the Harrisons'...
