Scope and Contents Reuben Olson of the Gary Public Library interviewed Roscoe Delaney Guy and his wife Ida Garnett Guy at their home in Gary, Indiana. Guy discusses the Spanish American war and how he enlisted in the 23rd Kansas Volunteer Regiment, before being assigned to the Band, 8th Regiment, Illinois Infantry Volunteers. He briefly discussed his work history, working in a rock quarry in Canton, Missouri; building riprap dams in the Mississippi River; and as a porter, waiter, soldier, and musician.
