Scope and Contents This collection consists of correspondence, diaries, and business papers of the Lambert, Miller, and White family ranging from 1824 to 1968. The bulk of the correspondence is between the Lamberts, Millers, and Whites (1885-1932), but also includes many letters from the Saunders family in Iowa, Kentucky, and Washington (1895-1950). Lewis Bradford Richardson collection

Scope and Contents There are three files in this collection. The first folder had family documents from 1874 through 1943. Bluford Richardson, supervisor on road work in Johnson County, kept a list of men who worked on the road, how many days, and how much they were paid, in 1874. In 1928, Lewis and his wife Hesper purchased property in Johnson County. The birth certificate of their daughter, Carolyn Dianne Richardson, born January 21, 1943, in also in the first folder. Lewis C. Robards collection

Scope and Contents This collection includes a breach of contract lawsuit filed by Lewis C. Robards against George M. Clarke in Fayette County, Kentucky on March 15, 1849. Drawn up by Harrison & Hunt, the lawsuit alleged that Clarke knowingly sold Robards a slave that was not of sound body. The legal document has additional notations regarding costs dated March and September 1850. The collection also includes the original August 19, 1848 bill of sale signed by Clarke.
