Biographical / Historical
Carl Richard Starnes was born April 4, 1916 in Wallace, Indiana to Faris and Susan Sanders Starne, He graduated from Wallace High School in 1934 and attended Wabash College graduating in 1938. He taught Speech and English in Fountain, Putnam and Montgomery County School. Later he worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Indianapolis Office of Occupational Development where he retired in 1980. He married Kathryn H. Myers August 12, 1939 in Fountain County, Indiana. They had three children Phillip, Sue Anne, and Tim. Carl Starnes died March 25, 1997 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Kathryn Helen Myers was born July 3, 1918 in Wallace, Indiana to Leslie and Grace Edwards Myers. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1935 and attended Purdue University where she was a member of the Purdue Glee Club. She died June 28, 1999 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
