Biographical / Historical

Hugh Henry Hanna was born September 19, 1848, to Joseph Smith and Hester A. Sumwalt Hanna in Lafayette, Indiana. Hanna married Anna H. Sharpe on October 22, 1873, and they had three children: Hugh Henry, Elizabeth, and Katharine. After attending schools in Lafayette, Hanna attended Wabash College and the University of Berlin.
