Biographical Note

Richard Carpenter Stanfield was born on November 28, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Orris and Louis Carpenter Stanfield. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1950. Later, Stanfield attended and graduated from Butler University. On June 11, 1954, he married Gayle Ranes in Indianapolis. He married Joyce Shipp on January 4, 1984. Stanfield died on January 25, 1988, in Indianapolis.
