This collection includes photographs, documents, correspondence, and genealogical research from members of the Kuhlenschmidt and related families primarily in Warrick and Vanderburgh counties, Indiana ranging from 1862 to 1993 regarding the Kuhlenschmidt and related families.

The second series of the collection consists of photographic slides taken by Rarymond C. Kuhlenschmidt taken during his time as a pastor, at family get togethers, and while traveling.

Biographical / Historical

The Kuhlenschmidt family lived and farmed in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties, Indiana. William F. Kuhlenschmidt was born in 1853 to Friederichand Amelia Kuhlenschmidt who immgrated from the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. Kuhlenschmidt married Louise Wilhelmine Hartig on September 7, 1880 in Evansville, Indiana. They had twelve children, some of whom stayed in the area and also farmed, while others lived and worked in Evansville.
