Biographical / Historical

Bertha Clyde Hayes was born on January 13, 1885, in Dunreith, Indiana to Seth and Isabella Donham Hayes. She had one brother Charles M. Hayes. Bertha married Edwin S. Fuller February 28th, 1910 and had one child David H. Fuller in 1919. Bertha was involved with the Audubon Society of California as their director of conservation, she was a president of the California History and Landmarks club of Los Angeles, she was also a district chairman for conservation of the Los Angeles District Federation of Women’s Clubs. Bertha spoke out about conservation issues around Los Angeles County and the state of California. She made numerous applications for possible areas of historical points of interest. Bertha also gave programs to various groups about the plants and wildlife in the area. She also enjoyed working on her family genealogy. Bertha Fuller died January 8th, 1968.
